resonant truth in fruit
embodying spacious spice
gravitationally

Filament Vineyard is a gem of a site, a secluded, high elevation, meticulously farmed 2.4-acres planted in 1998-2000 by Geoffrey & Lane Crowther in the Walnut Hill area of the Eola-Amity Hills AVA that produces exceptional wines rich in character.  Fun fact: we harvest this site equally between 4 winemaker friends:  Drew Voit of Harper Voit, Ben Casteel of Bethel Heights, Jerry Murray of Project M and Matzinger Davies.  All four of us receiving the same number of rows from the 5 clonal sections of the vineyard and each of us producing our own expressions of this special place.

TASTING NOTES

Our 2022 Filament Vineyard Pinot Noir speaks of blackberry and plum, sesame and Rooibos tea.  It gestures like Giacometti’s walking man, not in shadow but aesthetic in movement, taught and with purpose.  With imprints of bay leaf, allspice, shaved cinnamon, dates, cocoa and rocks it moves and flows.  The palate is salivaty and contemplative, full of velvet spice and the alluring gravitational pull of fruit. The whole is succulent and sustained, ringing true like a bell.
